Ive used the Frozen Ape since its infancy. It provides all of the metronome functions I need.

I dont use probably half of what this app offers, but the parts I use are great. I am a beginning piano student, so I love being able to save different tempos for different practice methods. I have had zero problems with crashing or freezing; it is very reliable. I have also loved using the tap function to measure the beat of an example piece which I am listening to.My one wish is that my saved songs would sync with my iPad. I also downloaded Frozen Apes Pitch app, because I love Tempo so much, and they are linked together in Pitch which is cute.The other students in my piano class keep complaining about their free metronomes not working very well; I keep telling them to just pay for Frozen Apes Tempo, because it is the best! It is a heck of a lot cheaper than an actual metronome! And you cant change the background colors on the physical metronome.

I use Tempo just about every time I practice. The interface is very simple and intuitive. Perhaps the best feature is the ability to tap a list of tempos to select one--largo or moderato or allegretto, say--rather than having to cycle laboriously up or down through various bpm settings. An excellent choice if you need a metronome app!
